How does Fractional C02 Laser Resurfacing work?
Fractional C02 Laser Resurfacing creates narrow, deep columns that extend through the epidermis into the dermis through an array of tiny little beams of light. Over the next few days, your face natural healing process will repair those tiny light beams by pushing out the old damaged skin tissue and replacing it with new healthy skin tissue.
What happens after Fractional C02 Laser Resurfacing?
During the healing process, it is normal to have redness and swelling. The top layer of the skin will become brown and crusted. This means that the treated that is preparing to shed. The downtime is approximately five to seven days. The redness will fade in around two weeks. New collagen produces over the next months. After that results improve even further. Certain patients require 1 treatment, but patients with deeper acne scars or wrinkles will require additional treatments.
Patients will expect a healthier, smoother and younger looking skin after the treatment.
How many treatments will patients require?
In general, patients require 2-3 treatments for optimal results.
